Kralupy nad Vltavou

November 2016

It would be correct to write "Kralupy-nad-Vltavou", but I'm not a pervert👌 Code name - just Kralupy.

That day I decided to visit 3 towns in one go (3 didn't work out, on the third I fell asleep on the bus 🙃), so there was quite little time.

We were at the station from early morning. The train is one of the most convenient local ones, double-decker.

Inside it's still very clean, all 3 years I've been here.

Life hack for you - try to climb to the 2nd floor, it's almost always empty there.

We arrived in Kralupy in about an hour. At the station stood my local favorite type of train, I actually haven't ridden it yet, but it looks like a vacuum cleaner.

Kralupy met us with cloudy weather.

And a town shitted to death.

Construction sites and repairs everywhere.

As befits a bad town, very many roads everywhere, noise-racket, and, of course, bridges in the town center (to make it easier to leave for Prague).

More or less nice is the very-very center, but even that's a stretch.

Though there's every chance :) True, if there are many cars and roads in town, means also many garages (instead of cafes).

Something like a park.

Fail. Just like home.

By the way, if you want to come to Czechia but are too lazy to bother with adaptation - come to Kralupy, here it will pass easily.

Kralupy's merit - from here you can leave to many places. The town's location is very convenient.

Hiking tourist routes pass through town.

Here you can sit with the boys after school.

Which most locals do.

Quite possibly, the local population also doesn't really love their town.

Well, there's not really anything to love it for.

By the way, all the photos above are missing one important detail - people (a similar situation was in Rakovnik, but there at least there are people in the center).

And people drive off to Prague.

Actually - yes, the town is really very depressing. Good things can only be found if you search very carefully.

I think we went there around November, they started decorating the town for Christmas. Trees will fix all flaws, actually, thank God, here they're real.

Pipe decoration

Retro-style inscriptions (with decent calligraphy, in my opinion)

Door (one beautiful one, unlike in Rakovnik)

Some water flows through town, but this isn't used at all

Very hard to find tidy places

In the whole town there's one cool place - somewhere in bumfuck, under a bridge

Birds sit there and they completely don't give a shit about tourists

We stayed in town for about an hour. Very little by my standards, but there's absolutely nothing to do there.

Station is normal, Soviet heritage in place

The mechanical schedule pleases, first saw such a thing in France, makes cool sounds.

Best thing in Kralupy - you can leave them, even on fun trains
